Enjoy the Simple Pleasures in Life

If you can afford them, it can be wonderful to enjoy extravagant luxuries like a new computer game, expensive clothes, a CD or a vacation, but don't forget to take pleasure in the things that don't cost money too. Remember when you were a child, and a daisy fascinated and delighted you? The warm sunshine on your face, the smell of fresh coffee, a beautiful tree, the curves of a car on the street, the smile of a child, the way a stranger moves, the feel of grass between your toes, the companionship of friends, a hug from a stranger, the courtesy of someone on the phone or in a shop. The world is literally brimming over with wonderful moments. The more you can appreciate them, the more light you are able to shine into your life, and the more bearable the dark moments become.

Things Look Different in the Morning

Whether you're depressed or confused or angry, things ALWAYS look different in the light of day. When you have a night's sleep, the rest allows your mind to muster its resources, and during sleep your subconscious is able to order your thoughts and put things into perspective.

Daylight will usually bring additional clarity to a confusing or upsetting dilemma or situation. If it doesn't, you can seek the help of someone else to help you deal with things. At the very least, you can reconsider the situation with a fully alert mind.

NEVER act upon a major decision taken in the middle of the night, until you've re-examined it in the light of day.
