the stress of the day

The stress of the day is killing me.  I need to go to sleep so I can start all over again tomorrow but can't.  I should write with all this pent up energy but I can't.  What a long and crazy day.  I love, LOVE, my job at a professor.  Especially teaching the Freshman Seminar class...but this year is going to be a hard one ( Read more... )

Oh man, it's almost like the poem you posted a few days ago. All these young people with all these problems, and here we think like is rough sometimes because we can't get to the net when we want, or the net goes down, or something. A day like today can just bring you to your knees. Well, I hope tomorrow is better and that these young people get things settled and get into the routine of school and can have a peaceful existence outside of the school. Here are *hugs* for you for tomorrow and next week. Hang in there and know that you are making a difference in their lives. :)

You know, I know we've joked about you being similar to Sophie, but you may be more so than you thought. It sounds like you are the Momma Bear to this group of young ones. And, who knows how that one kind word or extra smile, will help them through one of the darkest moments in their life. It will be worth it. You wait and see. :)

You know what? I was an "at risk" youth. Bad home life, depression, etc. Speaking from that - beyond anything else, the fact that you listen makes the biggest difference. 99% of the time that's all kids need, someone who listens to them instead of talking AT them.

*hugs*

awe, kitty kisses are the best.

but srsly, thanks for telling me that. the 'glass half full' outlook is that for the first time i don't have a class full of ungrateful spoiled brats and I can actually help here.

*hugs you back*
