Walmart is the same no matter where you are. Target on the other hand is very different depending on where you live. Compare to Walmart, I feel like I'm stepping into another world when shopping at some Target store. In my opinion, there isn't much contrast in the merchandises for sell at both places if you pay attention to where the products are made. It's the whole atmosphere of the store, the people who works there and the people who shops there, that will put your mind into a contemplative mode even if you're not a real citizen of the world.
