Oh yes. I'm a member of the museum, and usually go to the summer flying display, despite the heat and traffic.

Unfortunately, most of medical education is devoted to giving you the knowledge of disease processes and their treatment, but very little if any attention as to how to cope with the manifestations of human nature that result in barriers to the application of that knowledge to real life human situations. Sociology, psychology and just general life experience.... time coping with frustration, hierarchies, bureaucracies, human nature and your own limitations and obstacles that you place in your own path

I'm sorry in your sincerity and generosity that you got caught up in the middle. Life, our society or our health care system prepare few of us to be realistic about end of life issues.

You are so very right! About life. I do try, but there are limits, and there is a need to escape, and I've come to recognize this as the years have gone by, but I do take pride in not having replaced idealism with cynicism, and if I'm wrong in sizing up the situation, I would still rather give the benefit of the doubt.
