I'm a pilgrim

Jul 21, 2008 21:00

I'm back from NBS FOC!

Gotta clear my updates this week before I gather my matching roomie bedsheets to embrace newfound hostel friendships with Toilet Duck, washing machines and 'our countrymen's' orgasmic climaxes of "叫我皇帝!".

So, Europe trip!

Of a pilgrimage

We had Mass everyday, visited places of religious significance (homes of the visionaries, Miracle of the Bleeding Host) & had
Confession- it was more of a counselling session, the priest still can joke with me okay

Processions at Lourdes and Fatima, climbing the hill for Stations of the Cross,
the Incorruptibles, Drinking from the Taps, Holy Bath

The processions were amazing
Close to 80,000 people of different nationalities and languages gather every night at Lourdes together in prayer

& the highlight- I led in the procession at Fatima!

The other Portuguese, Italian and French reps were 3 times my age, choking in strings of pearl,
and I was up there in my Jeans & Adidas Jacket ensemble. :O

We were on the roads most of the time
Blue skies and Time Traveller's Wife

Off the streets of Paris
Their Louis Vuitton boutique is ONE HDB la

Pathe(tic) cinemas
Take key, go up hotel room, watch porn on TV ;)

C'est la vie

On the Run

(L-R) Stadium where Real Madrid trains, Cheese Factory, Barcelona's Olympic Stadium
The Eiffel, Shopping at Grand Via, Madrid's 'Jungle-in-a' Metro Station
The Louvre, Porto Wine-Tasting, Amsterdam's Windmill

Burger King's 6-Pack Burgers \\ I am NOT overgrown

They were selling the Boob Apron opp the Eiffel
In what way is that attractive to proposing couples?!

The Wheelchair Lane doesn't look too reassuring \\ 2 cars in 1

One bottle of wine: €3.00
One 1.5l Evian (spelt 'naive' backwards): €4.50

Mark will love it here- They're really 'green-frog-approved' environmental-friendly!

Everyone brings bags to the supermarket everyday.
So unlike NTUC's BYOB er, 1 Wed a month.

Amsterdam's tops my list of migrating destinations!

They have 700,000 people but 1 million bicycles!
The bicycle lanes are more dangerous than the roads

More reasons to be an Amsterdamer!
I need 3 MJ kakis

Triple-shot Spanish Sangria was the bomb \\ A very drunk Sera

Mid-trip, we received an email from Dad
He's trying to act hip, but I have no idea what 'chium chium chium' is

From Trevor

He's seriously damn funny.

When I saw the envelope, I thought he was giving me a present.
Who knew, the 'piece' was really A PIECE of the cathedral at Montserrat. Rofl, crazy guy.

And THE FOOOOOOOOD!
Ooooomg, it was 3 and 4 course meals EVERYDAY

Typical course: Spaghetti, Pork Chop and Fries, Dessert

Rough guide to food prices: (exchange rate: 2.15)
Penne Bolognaise ----- €6.90
500ml Bottle Coke ----- €2.00
1 Cornetto Ice cream ----- €2.20
1 Banana ----- €1.40

Yea, we'd rather constipate all 14 days.

Cheru and her Dutch Pancake
That's for ONE person and ONE out of a 3 course meal

What a normal ice cream cup looks like, and Cheru's

Mum & I
I told you I'm taller than my parents

The Kids and Mother Kid \\ Joey, Cherubina & Serafina

I survived a pilgrimage, Ma!
