#4: We Will Not Shop

Jun 01, 2008 22:12

After spending more than half our HK$ in 3 days, we had choice but to be shipped off for less-damaging activities. (and also to prove we're not frivolous shopping bimbos)

Thursday 24th April, HONG KONG DAY FOUR:
  • Ocean Park
  • The Peak, Madame Tussauds
  • Avenue of Stars
  • Tsim Sha Tsui

Day Four Cameras On Duty: Ah Neh ft Xiao Bai Cai

    It's Ocean Park Day!
We woke up at 8am cos Mark wanted to see how handsome the guy opening the gates was.

Someone had to wake up at 5am to check if the weather was favourable,
and Jean won by a landslide. (she wakes up to shit anyways)

Obviously, the day never starts off without breakfast,

We decided we needed energy to scream on the rides later

Seeing glasses of hot tea that looked so much like our cheap tea in chinese restaurants,
Boon and I happily slurped up our (free) beverage.

Until a horrified Mark saw our half-empty cups and said in her usual calm way,
"THOSE, ARE MEANT FOR WASHING THE UTENSILS"

Then I found out Jean was cheating on me with the Pork Butcher, and we had a bad break up

Ok la, the caption was meant to read, 'We bade farewell to S'pore-bound Jean'

With our tickets, en route to Ocean Park!

It was an awesomest cold day!
Heard there were heat waves back here? : (

    OCEAN PARK!

(We were supposed to mimic the Seal hor)

The cable car went up and down 2 mountains!!   \\    Mark was bravest of us all

... And we met fantastic photographers

Ya, we scaled the mountain and posed against the railings to get an outfit check.

Why don't we see our seals doing this?

I bet Singapore's oral sex ban is extended to animals lor.

    WAHAHA poor Boon!
I derive pleasure from 'Pick your ___ according to size'

Shark Reef   \\   Dolphin University exists

Because the 2 didn't dare sit in the front car, I was delighted by a Chinese neighbour

    After the ride,
I found out that he was on a company trip, sat a roller coaster 6 times in China,
was introduced to his extended family tree, and told 16 times that this roller coaster was not scary

We took all the thrilling ones!

When we were queuing for one, 2 Indian guys kept pestering us about what rides we recommended.
DO I LOOK LIKE A SEAL?

I took the map, pointed here and there.

One of them whispers in Tamil and started pointing to the map, so I offered it to them.

    "You speak our language!?!"

    After much procrastination!

Haha, these were for people who yearned a stamp of bravery
but got too scared (or short) to hop on the ride.

I have a sekret cuckoo bird hidden in my jacket

Only after the turbo drop, when we were almost reaching the bottom,
did Boon start screaming like CRAZY.
(Mark and I was laughing like siao at her)

There were people watching over the CCTVs along the escalators

And because it was so mother long, Boon decided to sit down and to her horror,
this damn fierce woman instantly switched on all the speakers and demanded sternly in Chinese,
"The One Sitting Down, Please Stand Up!"

After which, we headed to Yung Kee for their famed roast goose (with yellow fats)

And because we were noob tourists who didn't know how to take buses,

We hiked- Along mainroads and expressways

Navigator Boon and the 2 blind mice, WAHAHAHA

    On the main road okay!

After our eggciting 'scream-and-run' across big roads.... We reached triumphantly!

To commemorate the old Peak Tram operating from 1959-1989,
those born in these 2 years had free tickets - and THAT'S US!
    (NOT 1959)

    Doooo you smell the wax!

    We're so cool,
We managed to suss out Madame Tussaud's tourist discount coupons.

Without hesitation, we started raping the candles

There should seriously be acts against violation
(Btw, there was hair in Aaron Kwok's ear)

Boon trying hard   \\   But Jay Chou's obviously mesmerised by me

Because it is my journal and I do not need a caption   \\     Meet our tallest girl in class

We decided we didn't want to fork out $4 to get on the scenic roof to see chimneys,
    Thus meeting Fantastic Photographer #2

    Waaaah, marbled flooring. Waaaaah.

Then, we descended back down to Earth and it was, Avenue of Stars!

Boon came here for morning jogs during her last netball trip in HK. Cool hor

I take so nice for them, they made me a ghost

HK does not have a surplus of flying ghosts (white spots).
I just did not clean my lenses.

WE MADE IT TO XIANG GANG!

After all that mountaineering up 90° vertical roads...

& only because taking 230 photos a day is draining

    Cheese-mixed Chu Qian Yi Ding,
Fried Chu Qian Yi Ding with Luncheon Meat, Fried Chicken Cutlet Rice

No bed showdown today, because our beds are empty!! :D

    OK FINE, WE FAILED
(There was no wild action on my bed last night)

We spent 2hrs at a shop finding our last $30 item to hit $200
just so we could get 12% discount.
    We Are frivolous shopping bimbos.

Adidas: 'Adidas by Missy Elliot' black/gold sneakers (Pls don't come S'pore)
Tsim Sha Tsui: Gold Heart Studs

I was mighty pleased with my pathetic loot until I did my accounts...

Day Four Damage (Food + Transport + Shopping + Entrance Fees):
    S$210.38
    OH MY MAMA @#^$&%!?!

I'm saving our Beauty Pageant cum Talent Show (rofl) til the next entry so...

    END OF DAY FOUR!
(I'm leaving for Europe, final entry soon)
