So fortunate that this winter has been unusually clear. Tonight... Castor, Pollux, Mars, Aldebaran, Procyon, Rigel, Cassiopeia, Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, Ursa Major, Capella, the Orion Nebula, Polaris, the Pleiades, the embrace of the Milky Way with its visible light and its dark matter, and near the red occluded moon, Regulus and Saturn, visible in the shadows. 0c, quiet, beautiful, in the dark field dotted with ancient Garry oaks. I love this place, even when it does rain for months on end.
