Newton started treatment today. He did test positive for Parvo.
After telling the doctor I was a Surgical Technologist she gave me the go-ahead to be able to give him medication at home instead of him being hospitalized. He'll be hooked up to an IV full of Lactated Ringer's solution twice a day for fluids, and an assortment of pills he takes like a champ.
After a full day of feeling like crap yesterday, he was up and tackling Lerche this morning. I stopped him only because I didn't want him to get worked up, and possibly vomit or worse. It was nice seeing him be lively, though.
I stayed up all night last night watching him. I'll probably be doing that the next few days.
She said he's in the clear if he survives these next 3 days. He can crash and die at any point, but she's positive he'll survive. His age and weight are a big factor with that.
He's sleeping now at the foot of my bed. I think I'm going to nap, too.
I'm exhausted by life. I need a vacation.
