Ok, so I don't think I'm supposed to get a new camera.
Right now, I have an *awesome* camera from 2004. The S.O. won the casino night at the Dallas Cowboys/Papa Johns Christmas party in 2004 and the prize was our digital camera. At the time, it was like a $600 camera (at least that's what we were told).
Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2010. To get away from the family thing in San Angelo, I went to Walgreens. (I love Walgreens) Walgreens had a Thanksgiving special for mp3 players for $49 and a Kodak EasyShare C180 cameras for $59. Thinking those were great deals, I bought an mp3 player but they were out of the cameras. I bought the mp3 player for the S.O. On Black Friday I was looking for cameras online and decided I wanted a camera.
On the way home, I realized that the S.O. already had an mp3 player so we stopped at the Walgreens by the house. I returned the mp3 player and bought the camera. When I got home, I decided to check online. I found a Kodak EasyShare C183 camera for $59. So, within an hour of buying the camera from Walgreens, I returned the camera and purchased the camera from Walmart.
Later that evening, I got two emails from PayPal (the payment method I chose). According to PayPal, I paid Walmart TWICE for the camera. Of course I canceled the order.
On CyberMonday, I got an email from Walgreens offering me $20 off any purchase of $75 or more. So, I went perusing and they had a GE J1455 for $99.99 (reg. 179.99) with free case and extra lithium ion battery. With my $20 off, I got it for $91.99. Excited about my purchase, I waited until today.
Today, I open the package and they sent the GE 1455 with a free 2gig SD card. I called the 1-877 number and they apologized and said that my order in the computer stated the correct order and that I could go to any Walgreens. I went back to my neighborhood Walgreens and was informed that, no, my order did not state the correct order. My options were to (1) return the camera I bought and repurchase it with the other package but I'd not benefit from my $20 discount or (2) I could take it back and call Walgreens.com. I started to get frustrated, so the guy offered to charge me the full price and fake a separate return so he could give me $20 in cash. Immediately, I knew I needed to get out of there. I told him, no, I'd just take my refund.
I told him I paid $91.99 so he gave me $99.85. I told him that was wrong and he replied, "consider it gas money." I still protested and he said there was nothing he could do. It couldn't be undone. So, I took the refund and left. Feeling a bit dirty.
So, now I need to look for a camera again. I think I'm going to wait until after Christmas for those sales.
