I don't think I stopped moving all day, today.
Well, that's not true. I had lunch with a friend of mine, who's probably back in Massechew Massatchu Boston by now, and I had dinner (at
Rice Bar) with my lovely wife.
But other than those two intervals, I was pretty much running around.
Well, I sat through the aforementioned friend's defense - but I was taking notes practically the entire time (I promised him I would record what questions he was asked), so I wasn't sitting still.
This only-one-day-a-week-on-campus "thing" is a bit of a bother: I never seem to have enough time while I'm there to get done everything that needs attending to. Already, next week is half-booked, and I haven't even started contacting people about lunch. ;)
The biggest upshot of today's activities was seeing what a very solid doctoral dissertation defense looks like. It gives me something to aim for - and reminds me of just how far I have to go.
Oh, and I also submitted a paper to a conference. More on that another time.
Tomorrow: I need to knuckle down and actually write something academic. Yipes!
