True, many of the women doing the hanger thing probably won't live. This may sound mean but, good. If they're killing they're baby, then they should know what it feels like. It's killing a human, like killing your sister, or brother, it's your blood. Or hell, even killing a stranger on the street.
Yes, they probably would be unfit parents, that's why there are other choices....like adoption. People make adoption out to be horrible and since I've never been up for adoption I can't say otherwise. But atleast the child is given a CHANCE to live. Hmm, either adoption (which could mean a bad life or an amazing life), or killing the baby (not having a chance at all at a life)...hmmmm TOUGH CHOICE. It sucks to believe people woudl rather kill a human being, rather than give it a chance.
There's NO WAY you could guarantee that women wouldn't be paid for having abortions. Especially women who really need money, they'd do anything for it. Yes, there are plenty of abortions every year, that they might not need to, but do we know how many places would be using them for research ? NO, we don't. So there's no way you can say, with any hint of truth, that women wouldn't be paid for it.
Yeah, I believe everyone should have their own opinion, providing they have all the facts and aren't closed minded about things, you know what I mean ?
I personally am pro-choice. I think that it is my decision as to what happens with MY body. Not that I would ever be able to have an abortion myself, but my beef with the issue is that our country is based on freedom, that is why people came here in the first place. The way I see it is that I'll be damned before I vote for anyone trying to take away my freedom, its MY body so its MY decision, nobody has the right to make that decision for someone else, regardless of the moral issues. So now it moves from not only trying to take away my FREEDOM OF CHOICE but also it now tries to push regulations onto me which infringe on my FREEDOM OF RELIGIOUS PREFERENCES!!! Like I said, personally I would never be able to kill part of myself, but I have serious issues with someone telling me what I can and can't do with my body. The religion issue--I'm Catholic but I don't want anyone pushing religion on me even if the views agree with my own, I want to be able to choose for myself what I believe. What if the mother is in danger of losing her life? What makes the unborn baby more important? What if there are other children that would be losing their mother??? Also, why should someone be forced to have a child conceived as an act of violence? Have they not been through enough pain and trauma?? This issue is in itself the one and only reason that I voted this year, we fought so hard for our rights and now, people are trying to take them away!!! --hey just so you know, its your bf with a sunfire :-)
See, I went round and round with that myself. It took me a really long time to pick a side with this issue. You are most definitely right about it being the woman's body to do with as she pleases and about us having our freedom, BUT how come it's ok to have the freedom to kill a child, but we don't have the freedom to just go kill anyone else ? It's the same thing, murder. Or if you have the child and raise it for a couple days, weeks, months years, then kill it, it's murder. It's just so confusing to me how people are ok with killing a human being, if it benefits them.
There are so many variables, yes if the mother's life is in danger you would have to choose between the two, and the decision would be made on what's best for that isolated situation.
ALSO - Bush stated that abortions would be given as an option for rape or incest victims. That's also another thing I liked about Bush, because those are the only two instances I might be able to agree with.
Like I said, I believe everyone should have their opinions, but it doesn't mean I have to understand the logic behind them :p
