The thing is That the CIA AND FBI both told the president that there was no connection between Iraq and 9/11, they also the President that there was a minimal chance of "Weapons of Mass Destruction" in Iraq. Do you know much about the Bush's (all of them) stocks in Oil?
I know that people die in wars I'm not completely stupid thanks. But those people would be alive right now if it weren't for our President going against The U.N. and starting an unprovoked war.
You haven't said MUCH about the recession. The recession is due to Dubya putting allllll of our money into a war that should NEVER have been started.
No one said I hated Bush.. that's an assumption and bad one. I'm sure he is a perfectly nice man.. I could care less. what I hate is his POLITICS. which is what this is all about.

Did you know that Bush is the ONLY president in HISTORY to have a criminal record?

It's not that I want KERRY in office... he's not that bright either it's the point that I have the responsiblity as U.S. citizen to vote for the lesser of two evils.
Question how old are you?

I just cannot support your first statement. Bush was given intel time and again that Iraq was a serious threat. This is due to problems in American intelligence that he now pledges to fix.

I'm glad you brought up the UN. Last time I checked, America was a SOVREIGN nation. We don't NEED the approval of ANYONE to go to war. And all that being said, Bush went to the UN time and time again trying to get them to take action. The response? Let's try more sanctions and weapons inspections! NOT WORKING. The UN was unwilling to take action. So we gathered an alliance of willing nations and did the work that needed to be done!

Your comment about the recession proves 2 things. 1) You know next to nothing about economics. 2) You either haven't throroughly read or believed my posts. I will say it once AGAIN. The conditions that cause economic recession occur 4-6 years PRIOR to it happening. So let me explain that a little more. The recession we are currently in was caused by the economic policies of one William Jefferson Clinton. The impact of the economic policies of George W. Bush are just starting to be felt, as in...1.9 million new jobs in the last year!

"The lesser of two evils" is a copout. If you don't support John Kerry, DON'T VOTE FOR HIM. That's a horrible thing to do. Find a candidate that you can agree with. That you can support. That you DO want in office. Even if that means casting a vote for Nader or any of the other candidates running.

And I am 21 years old, a senior telecommunications news major at the University of Florida.

The thing is he also pledged to get Osama Bin Laden "dead or alive" and never came through.. are we even still looking for him?
You're right we don't NEED permission to start a war. The least he could have done is asked the people who are fighting this war what they thought. (of course I know that's never possible no matter what war it is but I am a serious Peace freak and I know that there is ALWAYS a way around war)
Honestly do not appreciate your tone. I never said I know EVERYTHING about economics but I do know exactly what it's like to be in the real world with a working class job trying to raise a family on next to nothing because.. having all of our public assitance taken away because our president wants his oil. There is seriosuly no need to get so frustrated.. if you can't handle this conversation please feel free to discontinue it.
I'm not a complete idoit. It's not that I don't believe in Kerry.. There will not ever be a president in my life time that I will agree one hundred percent with.. there are ALWAYS downsides to every human. If there is a president that I fully believed in I think I'd die of shock. honestly. I mean it's no big deal. My choice is kerry cause I that's what I choose. I wouldn't choose him if I didn't believe in some of what he says. Lesser of two evils isn't a copout it's the way I feel. I never asked you to agree with me.
21.. me too.... I don't recall asking for your status on schooling but thanks for the extra info... was that to prove you know a thing or two more than me? hehehe congrats on being a senior.. school is difficult and I'm sure telecommunications is a hard subject....

Osama Bin Laden is a snake. A tricky guy to pin down. I do believe we are still trying to catch him...but in the meantime we are also taking down Al Qaeda and its resources.

It's good that you admit that you are a "serious peace freak". President Bush tried peaceful intiatives. He really did. He tried to let the sanctions and weapons inspections work. When it was still a problem, he went to the UN and asked for Resolutions. He didn't get them. When the world is turning a blind eye, and President Bush can defend our nation or turn the same blind eye, he will defend us every time.

But see, good political debate can clarify viewpoints. You blamed the recession on Bush, and that's just not true. Public assistance being shifted to the war effort...I don't know about that. I can't prove it's not true.

I know you won't get a president you totally support. I mean, I don't agree with EVERY word Bush says, just most of it. But you said the words, "I don't want Kerry in office." If that's true, it just really saddens me that you would vote for him anyway. Look into other candidates. I would never tell you to not vote, but just try to find someone you would want in office.

Heh, you didn't ask about the school stuff. I just added to show that I am not just some 21 year old burger flipper at McDonalds. I am somewhat educated. I KNOW you didn't say I wasn't, I was just making sure you knew. :-)

heh thanks for proving you're intelligence.. hehe... that was neat.

I don't want Kerry in office I don't want Bush in office I don't want Nader in office... what I want to see is a woman in office........ I think the Men have had their go at it and it's time to hand over the title to someone who can see things from a different perspective.

The main reasons (besides war and greed) that I don't agree with Bush are his attempts to take away reproductive rights from women.. banning gay marriages.. Now I am sure as a christian you are completely with that.. but I am not. I think it goes against what this country was founded on... Freedom. Put aside your faith for a moment if you can... imagine the president saying that there were to be no more birth control... men were not allowed to get "snipped" women weren't allowed to have their reproductive organs removed or tied whatever.... what would you say to that? I'm assuming (which I try not to do but I will here anyways) that you would be against it... or most people would maybe not you... because that is our right as Americans... you know? I'm not trying to get into a who's right or wrong about this... I feel incredibly strong about it so there is nothing that would change my mind.. not that I am trying to change your mind but rather hope that you see it from a different perspective. That is the reason I will not vote for Bush this election.
I know that Kerry is wish washy about his ideas on the subject but that only gives me a little hope that he will deal less with that and more with our economy.. call it blind hope.. but it's hope none the less...

I've enjoyed this conversation... I hope you have too. It's been a learning experience fer shizzle.

The number one smart thing for both of us to admit is that we are so entrenched in our positions that our minds aren't likely to change. The undecideds will make this election, and that's what is so exciting.

It's been buckets of fun, we simply must do it again sometime.

most definitly...

oh I wanted to tell you I'm not on welfare or anything... I mean when I said public assistance I didn't mean foodstamps or anything..... not that there is any shame in it.. I was simply talking about the funding I was receiving for my son's child care costs...
Not that you care but do you know how FREAKING expensive it is to send your kid to daycare!?!?!?!?! my son's daycare is $115.00 a WEEK!!! that's more than my rent... isn't that crazy. I mean there are cheaper places here in town but I wouldn't let my son go there... cause they're all dirty and creepy.. ew. I mean it's worth the money don't get me wrong.... but... damn! Sorry I ramble..... alot. heehhehehehe

anyways yeah so I'm 21 as well... but I am not a senior telecommunications thingamablob student.. hehehehehehe ;)

What do you mean the sanctions weren't working?? IRAQ DID NOT HAVE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.

And as far as the "lesser of two evils" thing. It's not a copout. It's completely reasonable. If the choices are A and B; and A is worse than B, then you choose B. It would be pretty tough for me to "find a candidate that I can (completely) agree with." But that doesn't mean I'm going to forfeit my vote, so that the candidate who would be WORSE for me is elected.
