ok so so much to say!! Right where in the world do i begin?!
Guys last night in tecoman we slept under the stars on the beach, after having a bonfire and of course those tasty tasty shmores! I saw my first shooting stars, 6 in fact( i made 6 wishes :D) and i saw a couple of planets, the milky way and millions of constillations! We had a tasty bbq in the day which is always better on a beach i find.
A few days later me and kate went up to Guad for their proper last night ( guys and Rachels)and we went back to the indian we orginally ran away from, luckily he didnt recognise me, but if he did he didnt say anything so i enjoyed a very tasty curry again woo! Afterwards we headed off to the fancy pants Chess nightclub again, where i enjoyed taking a lot of free drinks from random mexicans - alas non of such were in any slightest way fit but fun times all round ready for the start of a crazy adventure!
We woke up after 3 hours sleep COMPLETELY shattered and ready to hitch hike our way to Mexico City. We made our way to the main motorway to Mexico City all excited and rareing to go with our sign, however the excitement wore off after 3 HOURS of standing their waiting to be picked up! Although after moving to a better spot, we got picked up by this DUDE called Fernando so we all squeezed into his tiny car ( we got cramp quite badly) and he took us about a fifth of the way to Mexico City to a tiny little town where he lived. He was really nice and invited us to his house for lunch ( score!), so when we rolled into this little town we were all expecting it to be a tiny house like the ones we drove past but turns out he was totally rich and owned a tequlia plant! so we rolled into his giant mansion house, and had a wicked lunch for free it was brilliant!
After lucnh he dropped us off by the main road to Mexico City and we waited 20 mins or so when this nice red fancy car pulled up and offered a ride for 3 of us to Mexico City, so we split up and me Lisa and Guy got in. He was nice but slightly flirty towards Lisa however he took us all the way to Mexico City, got us all tacos and gave us a mini tour of the place afterwards! So after a fairly successfull day we went to our hostel, and crashed out.
The others got picked up by a lorry and made it a couple of hours later so we met up in the end which was cool. The next day we went to Frieda Khalos house, the catherdral, and looked around Mexico City, which is an awesome city that makes amazingly good tacos! That night me Lucy, Femke and Rachel went to a Cuban bar, and i got accosted by a few mexis to dance salsa which they soon realised i was terrible at, then me and Rachel stayed in the hostel bar till about 5ish chatting and stuff. Next day, we went to the mayan ruins climbed a pyramid, and took lots of pictures, then afterwards we went to a football match at the stadium Aztecka which is huuuggee! It started pouring down with rain tho on the way out so we took off our shoes and legged it to the tube, but i stepped on summit sharp which is why my foot hurts now still it was fun runing through the storm. The evening was spent in a small club in the city, which we payed 50 pesos to get in to (2.50) and got a bottle of vodka, 3 litres of beer and a jug of juice for it! Bargin! natch we all got pretty wasted especially cos the vodka was like paint stripper!
Next day we were leaving the city, all completely hung over and tired, and supposidly hitching our way to Oaxaca ( oh-wah-ka) we split up again, so i was with Guy and Lucy, however we didnt quiet have as much luck this time, we got picked up and expected to be going to Puebla about half way between the two cities, but the man said in the car that he was actually going to Cuatla, so we looked at the map and it looked like a more direct route so we said ok cool. Then car broke down about half an hour from Cuatla so we had to get out, we waited about 15 mins and we got picked up and taken to Cuatla with a lady with lots of flowers in her car. In cuatla we got lunch, and then head out to hitchhike again but we couldnt find the main road and no one would pick us up, we had our massive bags on and we were walking for AGES which was a bitch on my back. Eventualy it started to get dark so we decided to give up and get the night bus (booo!). We had to wait three hours in the bus station tho which was quiet fun cos i learned how to play poker, and we had a cleaning session turning face wipes black with how dirty we all were ( pics soon on face book)from the day.
So after an 8 hour journey that was freezing cold we arrived in Oaxaca where im currently writing from our v cheap hostel! we're off again tomorrow to Puerto Escondido ( the beach yay!) and im quiet tired right now so i'll do another blog from their onwhat we did in Oaxaca and the ride down to escondido, which i hope is better then the last one, karma says it should be...
oh and hitch hiking really hurts your thumb!
