The good, the bad, and the stuff in between.
Good news:
We got an extra closet! Yay!
Bad news:
I hurt my back carrying it into the house.
In between:
Sven has now learned that there is only one appropriate response to my getting hurt, namely any variation of "poor baby, I'm so sorry for you." "You'd have been fine if you'd just turned more" is not an accepted response.
Bad news:
My lower back injury has evolved into a very stiff and painful neck. Can't sit, can't stand, can't lie. We went to The Stig's birthday party last night and poor Sven had to take me home while the rest of them went into town. He really wanted to go, but I was a mess, and taking two taxis seemed a bit excessive, especially since a taxi trip to the house equates more than 100$.
Good news:
We got a little dinette table for the kitchen, and we've lived by it since. The kitchen is the best place to be and it feels so homey now.
In between:
About our ghost: The neighbors don't recall any tall guy in Kansas overalls. Apparently, the guy who built this house is still alive. Also, not tall. My new theory is that he's the farmer who owned the land this house was built on. I have a story in my head about it, because imagine how odd it must be to take a walk through your fields in your afterlife, only to suddenly find yourself in someone's living room.
Good news:
Sven's mortgage finally came through, so now I can move in for reals! Happy-happy-happy!
Good news:
I have what seems like the perfect renter lined up for my apartment while we wait for it to sell. Flexible, undemanding, ready to move out at a moment's notice. Possibly interested in buying. Awesomesauce. Hopefully, it's not too good to be true.
In between:
We're finally going to see Avatar today! I really wish my neck didn't hurt so bad, but hopefully I can just lean my head on the seatback.
