Cleaning and tv shows. I'm such a house wife.

My kitchen floor seems to have one default setting: Sticky.

Granted, washing said floor is not on the top ten list of my favorite things to do, but even when I do get down on my hands and knees and scrub till my fingers bleed, I can enjoy exactly four blissful nano-seconds before once again hearing that sickening, slurping sound as a shoe kisses the linoleum with all the passion of a Donald Duck suction cup. It drives me crazy, and I've gotten to the point where I make an effort not to wear shoes with a rubber sole in my kitchen. So when guests step out there and literally stick to the floor, I am mortified.

What?! What can I do more than Ajax followed by a thorough clear water rinse? What do you want from me, Floor? Vinegar? Hydrogen Peroxide? A prairie burning?? Just tell me, I'll do it! Any cleaning fiends out there with some good advice?

Meanwhile, I am loving this season of Project Runway, long awaited as it is! I'm rooting for Christopher and Epperson, because I think they have the most skill and distinctive point of view of the lot. They're just consistently very good, in a quiet, dark horse kind of way. I enjoy their work and I like that they leave the antics to the less talented lot, who will hopefully be Auf'ed sooner rather than later, with good riddance, as has been the case so far.

I'm watching season 6 of So You Think You Can Dance too, and I have to say, this is one reality show where the auditions aren't the best part for me. With other talent shows, I sit in my couch and hide behind my pillow as I cringe in embarrassment and shock laughter, but then check out once they get the contenders on stage, but with this show, that's where it gets interesting, I think. So I'm trudging through the auditions and I can't wait for them to get to Vegas already. Obviously The Other Brother, Ryan, is gonna tear it up, and I hope he goes as far as Evan, if not longer. I have a feeling he's the more talented of the two, less afraid to leave it all out there. On the other hand, if he gets booted off too soon, it would just break my heart.

Sven and I are going to the twins' 30th birthday party tomorrow. They're pulling out all the stops, which means I'll be pulling out my evening gown. I finally found the perfect shoes for it, but it's so old now, I'm afraid tomorrow night might be its Swan Song. We'll see how it holds up, and I'll be sure to take lots of pictures.

Have a great weekend!
