Happy birthday to me!
I had such a great day!
It started with a wake-up call from a very singing Alex, interrupted by my door bell. Flower delivery. From Sven. Long stemmed red roses with white lilies and a bottle of white wine. Proving he pays attention and will supply me with my drug of choice. I was in complete shock. I'm still in shock. My mom is now officially in love with this guy. :)
Donned my gorgeous new blue fox collar and my buttery soft new leather jacket - early birthday presents that I got to pick out for myself last Saturday, and I have to say, I LOVE my blue fox! It's like having whipped cream around your neck... But I digress. I tend to do that when it comes to my blue fox. Went to my parents' place for lunch. We had a really good time. Yummy food, good company, beer. What more could a person possibly ask for?
Dad drove me to work at four. My bosses gave me a bottle of Pol Roger champagne with a little bow on it. Sweet Lina showed up with a pink heart shaped balloon with "Happy Birthday, Katrine!" written on it. She made such a fuss over me, sweet girl. I had gotten my parents tickets to see the show, and they loved it. Before that I had told them to come early and I hooked them up with a nice bottle of white wine and a couple of seats in the restaurant. It was really cool having them around while I worked. They were so complimentary of me and told me how proud they were. It's not every day that the parents of a waitress get to do that, I think. It felt really great.
We ended the day by going back to my place for a night cap and I was in bed by 1am. And all through the day there were greetings, text, facebook messages, emails and phone calls. I think the whole world remembered my birthday! I feel so special and liked and appreciated. Thank you all for making it a really special day. I wasn't gonna make a fuss this year, but I'm so glad someone did anyway. :)
This morning I was awoken by the doorbell again. The Pianoman sent me flowers as well. That's three huge bouquets in my tiny apartment! MadMax' got here last Sunday due to a misunderstanding with the florist and they're all just gorgeous!
And! Tonight I get to have dinner with dutchxfan and her husband! Yay, Becca and John are here!! I'm so excited!
