Be the miracle He wishes for

I decided to make this entry public because I feel everyone should read this.

Today, we had a sub for our Athletic Coaching class, and we were watching a video named "Twice Pardoned." It was the story of a man who chose the wrong crowd and got involved with drugs and alcohol at a young age. He went from being the star athlete on his team to a pothead. Before he had realized what was going on in his life, he was in jail, sentenced to life for a murder he did not commit. Eventually, he found Jesus and promised Him that if he was let out of jail someday, he would commit his whole life to helping kids not make the same mistakes as he did, sending a message about Christ. Jesus heard his prayers and saw that what was in his heart was true, and now this man has changed his life around. Very often he travels around the nation to speak to teenagers about his message.

Toward the part in the video where the man was telling the teens to reach out to Jesus, a few people behind me started snickering. Throughout the rest of the video, all I could hear were their muffled voices, and I kept thinking to myself, "How can people be so disrespectful? Maybe some of us do want to watch the video."

Once the teacher stopped the tape and told us to list ten facts from the video, the two kids who were talking during the whole last segment of the video basically shunned Jesus in front of everyone. It was absolutely horrendous. Tears welled up in my eyes when they started fighting with the professor. No one was trying to force anyone to believe in one thing. All this poor man was trying to do was teach us what the video was based on, leaving our decisions up to us. Both of those students made a few crude remarks and walked out of class. Then the most amazing thing happened.

One man got up from his seat and said, "I heard that."

"What did you hear, buddy?" the professor asked him, hope sparkling in his eyes. Everyone turned to look at this man.

"Everyone should have Jesus in their life," he said, putting his paper down on the table and walking to the other side of the class to sit down.

No one else left the class except for those two people who were offended by the message. Seeing what just happened was truly a miracle.

Why is there so much hate in this world? Anytime I hear anyone bashing on Jesus, it truly breaks my heart. Jesus is the most important thing in my life, and to hear the evil words spoken today in class hurt me so much. If you don't want to accept Christ into your life, that is perfectly fine with me; it's your choice. However, please respect the people around you who do worship the Lord. Think before you say things because you never know who you will hurt. Learn how to love. This world has too much hate as it is. Be a miracle. ♥
