Just a mini-update :)
I don't know if any of you still read this journal, but I'm just going to write anyway... [wow - I'm a little rusty at typing anything longer than a sentence! :) ]
Recently I got promoted at Starbucks to Shift Supervisor (s/s) - It's not necessarily what I want to do forever, but in the meantime, a pay-raise and a change of scene is a little exciting :) Being a s/s is really different; as a barista I was used to sitting back and taking direction. As much as I loved being a lemming, it's kind of fun to actually run a shift. Wednesday I was officially certified by my Store Manager, and tonight I actually closed all by myself!! (meaning I had two baristas, and I was the only s/s)!! AND IT WENT REALLY WELL!!! It was also the first close of one of our baristas who used to be a minor, and she did fabulously!!!! It was like she had closed all the time!! I'm elated - I miss having things I'm proud of.
I need to start a sport again... like Soccer. Which starts in Summer I think. And now it's closer to beginning again. I love Spring. And Summer. And mid- winter. Not this dreary crap, though. It's so depressing. Although it makes our store a little less ridiculously busy, so that makes me happy. Less teenagers. Damn teenagers :)
