Wow...I'm almost a month into my summer break. I've been uber productive too! I counseled 3 camps in 2 weeks: CYF one week, Discovery over the weekend, and Chi Rho for another week. Then I hung out with one of my best friends from camp for the weekend who I haven't seen in over a year. That was fun. We went to church Sunday and 2 of the counselors from CYF and Chi Rho were there as well visiting the Chi Rho camp director so we had a mini reunion. One of our campers even commented on it! Camp, as always, was an amazing experience. I met some awesome kids that will do amazing things and I discovered some gifts I didn't know I had. WHich was the theme, so it works. We came out with so many inside jokes, especially my Chi Rho kids. Leave it to the middle schoolers, the most difficult age group, to be the most fun! But anyways, I truly hope that after I move back to Lexington I'll be able to keep up the "camp high" that I'm on and get back into going to church. Unfortunately, I'm very weak when it comes to getting myself up and ready on Sundays.
Anyway, I'm super pumped about this weekend. Not only do I get to see Adam for the first time in a month, but one of my oldest friends is getting married. MARRIED! How bizarro is that? I'm also excited about getting to see the camp kids (and Transy kids too, but I've seen most of them more recently).
After the wedding, my family is going to North Carolina to visit my grandpa, who's in the hospital once again. Only this time it sounds terminal. It's kinda weird. We never really visit them because my mom doesn't get along with them at all. Most people are fairly close to their grandparents by the time they're my age. I feel bad that I'm not more upset. I realize this makes me a horrible person and God will punish me or whatever. But Grandpa's always sick with one thing or another, so maybe this will be the best thing for him anyway.
Once we get back from NC, I pack up and load the U-Haul and come back to Lexington, my new "home"...I guess. I won't get into that one though.
