#17 to start of the season
#3 to end the season
12-0
4-0 against ranked teams (higher than USC or Oklahoma)
9th for strength of schedule (again, higher than USC or Oklahoma)
We actually beat a ranked team for our conference championship
Yet we have to settle for the Sugar Bowl (i know "settling for the sugar bowl" sounds horrible, but come on people!)
Why did last year not teach them that college football needs a play-off system?
I'm not saying Auburn would have won that way, but I see play-offs as much more fair system.
I'm also not saying that USC and Oklahoma did nothing to not deserve to play. BUT look at how far Auburn came this year. I think that speaks volumes more.
I hate Oklahoma.
I don't hate USC.
The point of the bowl system is to make sure #1 plays #2. well in a play-off system, if a team beats a #1 or #2, shouldn't that say a little something about ability? I realize teams have off days, but play-offs are OK for every other division of every other sport. it seems to be working well for Div. II and Div. III teams.
War damn Eagle.
