After careful consideration, I've decided that Bill Cowher is a fucking idiot. Maybe I'm speaking on behalf of the bravado placed in me by a few beers at the time, but when you're down by two touchdowns with 11 minutes left in the game, and it's 4th & Goal on the TWO FUCKING YARD LINE, you go for the touchdown, right? Let's analyze this, shall we? It's a two possession game any way you look at it here. You get two touchdowns and two extra points to tie the game, right? No. Bill goes for the field goal, which is the dumbest coaching move I've ever seen, in the AFC Championship Game no less! By taking the field goal, you HAVE to score a touchdown, and then HAVE to get the two point conversion, which is essentially a 4th & Goal play from the THREE YARD LINE, and then HAVE to get either another field goal or touchdown. Which would you rather have: 4th & Goal from the two, or the three?
Bill, you're an idiot. Aside from the fact that the Pats embarassed the Steelers yesterday, you showed us all why you haven't won a single Super Bowl as a head coach.
And one last thing while I'm at it: the Jets' kicker is NOT TO BLAME for their terrible, horrific loss to the Steelers to even put them in the AFC Championship to begin with. The blame is wholly 100% on Chad 'Let's Bitch About the New York Media Because It Sounds Like a Great Fucking Idea' Pennington, who lead the prestigious Jets offense to exactly zero touchdowns for the entire game. If Pennington had gotten them just one, they would've moved on, because the Steelers played like moldy bread.
Congratulations are in order to Mr. Mike Logan and his Eagles for making the Super Bowl, as they should've last year (and as pretty much all of New England wanted... to win the Super Bowl, you beat the best competition you can face, not the Panthers). It's going to be a great game. But I say the Pats by 11 ;)
