I have a new old-new cat. Seedling popped up on the porch about two weeks before Aunt Tudi passed away. I pulled her into the house and removed all the teentsy seeds from her long grey fur, thus her name. Since I didn't want anymore animals after Aunt Tudi passed, and since Seedling seemed pretty attached to Uncle Michael and Janice, I gave her to them. Janice said they would get her spayed and her shots for her.
She in heat now. And they don't have the money to take care of it, so Janice was going to take Seedling to the animal shelter.
No. I told her I would take her back and work something out with Dr. Patch. I called Doc, but he's booked 'til April, but Chris gave me a number to Animal Allies, a place that may be able to get Seedling in ASAP. So I called them. Seedling now has an appointment for next Friday, and her shots and spaying are only going to cost $28.00. It turns out they are a charitable organisation who are always looking for volunteers. I told them I'd fill out an application, but wouldn't be able to come in until after my knee surgery, but I believe I'm definitely going to do this.
It was suggested that I could deal with my grief a lot better if I could volunteer someplace and be near people, but I didn't want to go to a rest home or a children's whatever. Screw that. I wanted to work with animals somehow. Well, it looks like I can.
All thanks to Seedling.
