Oh that most dreaded of days, right up there with the Ides of March. I'm not doing much today. I'd like to get some writing done. Cadmus is a wee bit restless, but has not yet given me anything concrete to write. It's all very diaphanous at the moment. Really I can't think of a better way to spend Friday the Thirteenth than writing Cadmus of all people. He's a Friday the Thirteenth kinda fella.
I've also been thinking about Braecca. She's one of the Original Ten and the third most powerful in that group of Vampires. I don't think I'm going to mortate her. I think she's going to be the inheritor of what's left of the Great Hive after the final climax. Braecca took on the Celtic Ways and spent her life in the Highlands of Scotland, studying the ancient Pictish culture. I keep getting the impression that she would be an incredible champion to fight Cadmus' chaos. Is this fourth book in the works? Who knows? I'd like to think so. Before I even go there, though, I want to focus on the Relics Trilogy and maybe begin the writing of the Braecca/Cadmus story. There's definitely something there, but I just need to develop Braecca more.
Going through my notes, I found that, at one time, Braecca was a nun in Scotland, which means she would be a member of the Hive of Redemption. I'm not sure I want to keep that. Redemptors are so difficult to write because they have such a narrow life, not accepting the Vampires that they are. I may keep the nun part, but make her borderline Redemptor/Darkling. Perhaps I'll let her have her own convent which could be a sanctuary for Vampires. There are so many possibilities. I may even bring in the Illuminati and Rosicrucians in this story. I have an abundance of knowledge concerning secret societies and had mentioned in the first book that many of these societies sprung up because of Cadmus' promotion of the chalice of Kelat as the Holy Grail. I may expand on that. So many avenues to take, but it's all in the future right now.
