To leave or not to leave...

Gah, I'm tempted to stay at current job. I kinda sorta promised my supervisor I'd think about it over the weekend. >.<

I'd love advice on this, but that might involve specifics. To that end, I'm making a Job-Specific filter. It's mostly opt-in (I say mostly because Sheera and TSK are being drafted onto it) and not for anyone who could possibly have a lower opinion of me...

So drop a line here if you're morbid interested in being on it.

And for everyone else, here are two non-detailed stories from my little corner of hell.

I was chatting with a costumer the other day, and she asked to speak to my manager.

"I want to tell him how nice you are. I always wish someone would do that for me."

"Oh, where do you work?"

"... where you live. I leased you your apartment."

O_O

There's an e-mail from sort corporate big-wig at our company trying to inspire us by quoting a scene from Balboa. Specifically, the one where Rocky goes on a grandiose and ultimately self-serving rant about taking punches.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that!

Well, I couldn't help it. I couldn't just leave it like that.

So I wrote a note a taped it underneath the letter.

"This advice inspired Rocky Jr to quit his job."

I never liked Balboa anyway. Worst Rocky movie. (And yes, I'm including Rocky V in that assessment.)

Guh, today was hard. I was soooo tired. But it's my own fault for staying up and watching Powder with Sheera. *L*

ranting, life, somewhat amusing
