Press 2012 + 2013 Excos lunch today :) Haha, I didn't expect to have so much fun honestly, and even though we didn't go all out and do retarded stuff, sitting there in Pizza Hut waiting for our food to come and sharing ridiculous stories was rly quite awesome ~ We are such morbid people, hahaha srsly there were so many stories about dead people and hanged people and people jumping out of hot air balloons like wth HAHA and my favourite big golden fluffy monkey story which Sam Teo told me and can be used to kill time anywhere :p Best camwhoring pictures too, haha since we didn't have proper cameras we had to use Junyan's phone so we all took turns to have a huge face plonked in the middle of the photo, haha. And while we were doing that the security guard was staring at us from upstairs, trolololol. And we went to the big open space in nex, the one with a pathway and we sat in the middle of it and people inside the building were all like ....whut so we decided that if anyone asks, we're from Hwach HAHAHA. And my left shoe broke so the sole was just flapping weirdly and Junyan went to get superglue for me and he didn't want me to pay how sweet is that :) But I couldn't bring whatever I didn't finish home cos it was leaking everywhere which wasn't good, cos, well, my right shoe broke on the way home. Yeap. Such is life. Oh well, I have a good impression of Press' future exco now anyway :)
Preparing for SV tmr and thinking of what Christianity is really, actually about - what is this thing that we call our faith? What is it exactly? And I realised that if you want to boil it down to its essence, only one word remains - Jesus. He is the entire basis of Christianity, the loveliness of His person and the perfection of His finished work, that makes us rest today in the knowledge that we are seen perfectly righteous and just in God's eyes. And since Jesus' righteousness was imputed to us at the Cross, we can receive every spiritual blessing that comes with righteousness - and none of the curses of the Old Testament apply anymore because we are no longer not righteous!
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:17
Since through Jesus, we receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, we will reign in life without us even trying, because we simply have to receive His overflowing grace and His gift of righteousness. And when we are so conscious of His grace through Jesus, we become Jesus- and hence righteousness-conscious instead of ourselves-and hence sin-conscious, we are automatically changed from glory to glory, into a state of being more Christlike!
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18
Christianity is all about God's giving us Jesus, and our receiving of Him - not our trying to live up to a state of perfect righteousness which we will never be able to attain.
Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
Romans 4:4
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.
