“Chinen!!!”

Yuri looked up from rubbing his eyes, stifling yet another yawn to find Yamada waving at him enthusiastically, his eyes practically shining from the sight of him. He suppressed the growing grin, hidden behind his white mask and walked out of the immigration area to Yamada’s welcoming smile.

“Okaeri!” greeted Yamada cheerily and Yuri allowed himself to get enveloped. He technically walked into Yamada’s opened arms. “Tadaimaaa~” he replied sleepily, his voice coming out as half a yawn. Yamada detached himself from Yuri and reached up instinctively to rearrange Yuri’s tousled hair, affection evident in his eyes and he tried to flatten those lumps protruding in weird angles.

“Comfy flight?” Yamada asked, as they both started walking away from the incoming after-flight crowd at the same time. Yuri nodded.
“You look half awake,” Yamada laughed, his hand landing on Yuri’s head and giving it a soft pat after he pointed Yuri in the correct direction.

Yamada drove off the moment Yuri had his seat belt buckled.
“....I woke up early, so I thought of driving to the big supermarket in Saitama to get the ingredients for tonight but guess what, they didn’t have the kind of pork I was looking for!!” Yuri could feel Yamada’s excitement radiating off him but he only had one question in mind.
“We’re having pork for dinner?”
“Yup, it’s all ready. We’re having pork Shabu Shabu! Why?”
“It’s not allowed in Qatar, so I was really craving it.”
Yamada beamed at Yuri’s comment, proud that he managed to get the meat from a normal supermarket on the way back.
“Guess I’m a genius then,” he replied and they fell into comfortable silence.

When Yamada parked the car at his usual lot, he wasn’t surprised to find Yuri asleep, his mouth slightly open.
“Chinen?” Yamada called out softly and he watched as Yuri stirred in his seat. “Chinen, we’re here.” He tried again and nudged him gently before getting out of his seat.
Yuri stirred and opened his eyes groggily, blinking against the bright lights of the bright carpark. Reaching for his side, he was momentarily surprised to find that his seatbelt was already removed. He’s always baffled over how Yamada could do that without waking him and without him feeling anything.
“Chinen,” he heard Yamada muffled call for him from somewhere behind him, “can you grab my phone, I’ll get all the food”.

Yuri sat waiting in the living room as he let Yamada do all the preparing and couldn’t help but feel at home as he listened to Yamada hum along a random tune.
He didn’t have to wait long, they were both hungry and Yamada was good at chopping. They ate in silence, most of the time, and Yuri only spoke up when Yamada asked him about Qatar and what he did there.

Yamada didn’t realised how long they’ve been sitting there in the living room until Yuri yawned, his eyes full of sleep again, and so he asked naturally, “you’re staying?”
Yuri turned to look at the clock in the far distance and gave Yamada a shrug. He’s too tired to move anyway and it’ll be a trouble to get Yamada to drive him back.

Yamada disappeared into his room and Yuri made no evidence of moving as he stared at the leftovers. Yamada bought too much, again, as he always would when he gets excited.
When he felt something soft lunged at him, Yuri turned to catch instinctively and found himself holding a towel and the set of pyjamas he always wear when he stays over. “Thanks”, he mumbled and shuffled into the bathroom.

Yamada cleaned up, putting leftovers in boxes before placing it in his fridge. He was almost done with the dishes when Yuri came back from soaking in the bath. He could tell because there’s this air of warmth radiating off Yuri’s body as he brushed past him to get water. “I left the warm water running,” he said and that confirmed Yamada's guess. “Can you dry the remaining ones?” Yamada asked, not bothering to wait for Yuri’s reply before handing him the dry cloth he was holding.

When Yamada was done, he came out of the bathroom into semi-darkness and he could faintly spot the rising and falling lump of Chinen Yuri sleeping on one side of his bed. He was suddenly overwhelmed by a growing warmth within him that has nothing to do with the hot tub he just climbed out of. Gently, he closed the door to the bathroom so as not to wake Yuri up and carried the hair dryer out.

Yamada slid down slightly from the pillow that he had propped against his back and yawned. Yuri stirred beside him. He swiped through the windows he had opened on his phone and clicked on the camera. The sound of the shutter echoed rather loudly and Yuri opened his eyes sleepily to find Yamada’s phone right on top of his face.
“Ohayou~” Yamada greeted without shame, his voice still deep with sleep. Yuri propped himself up, rubbing his eyes to fully open it.
“Ryosuke,” he called.
“Hmm?”
“I’m hungry~”
Yamada laughed and threw his pillow at Yuri as he climbed out of bed. What am I supposed to do with you?
Still chuckling, Yamada went to wash up before heading to the kitchen, pulling out ingredients from yesterday and starting to make soup.

P.S: Written based on facts (Yamada wouldn't shut up on how he invited Yuri over for shabu the day he returned from Qatar lol, so cute)

I can't believe this reached 900 words but YAY I managed to finish it.
I was on the verge of deleting the note I created on my phone to write this, then decided that I should just finish it.

Tell me what you think!!
