He picked up the phone by his side and dialed the number that he was most familiar with. It rang twice.
"Hello?"
It was the same soothing voice that he wanted to hear.
"Can you come?" He managed to choke out, "I want to see you."
He reached his house in a few minutes. He was about to ring the doorbell when he realised that the door wasn't locked.
Slowly he pushed the door open.
"Chii?" He whispered. There was no reply. One by one, he opened the door to each room, calling out to him.
When he couldn't find him after the third room, he panicked.
He quickly rushed up the stairs and slammed open the door of every room. Finally, at the last one, he found him.
Sitting in the corner of the room, he had his arms wrapped around his knees with his head down.
He smiled in relief.
"Thank goodness he's safe." He thought to himself.
Slowly, he walked across the room and knelt down in front of him.
He place his hand on his head and gently stroke it. After which he ruffled his hair. A gesture that he always do when he sees him.
"What's wrong?" He asked gently. "Hmm?" and he started stroking his hair again.
He lifted up his head, tears brimming at his eyes and looked at him. Taken aback, he was speechless.
They looked at each other in silence and suddenly, he flung himself at him. Arms wrapped around his neck as he hugged him tight, letting the tears flow.
He recovered himself and hugged him back tightly.
"It's all right. I'm right here. Don't worry."
He stroked his hair as he said it and slowly he stopped crying...
