That day I watch you face your fear. That day I watch as you endure all the pain. That day was the day I promise myself that I will take care of you forever.
You knew it's going to happen. You knew it's going to hurt you but still, you decided to face it.
You were there and I watched you from the back. I looked as you square your shoulders, looking up front and looking brave. You took a deep breath and you clenched your fist.
They were right in front of you and I know how much it hurts to watch the person you love with someone else. To watch them act all intimate when you're right there.
But you didn't run away, you faced it with courage and that is why I love you.
Walking up to them, you called out to them. They turned to face you and I could see the shock on his face.
That girl was in his arms but he let go immediately, his face of shock as he looked at you.
Your hands were trembling as you faced him, as you looked at his eyes.
You could see it, the truth in his eyes. It was obvious. He had left you for somebody else and no matter how much he tried to lie to you about it, the truth is out.
"Why?"
I heard your soft whisper and I could sense how much it hurt you inside. You didn't show it and I'm proud of you. You held on strong as you continue to face him.
His hands snaked back to that girl's shoulder and I clenched my fist tight. I could never forget that smug face, that smile on his face when he looked back at you.
"It's over."
That was his last words to you as he turned around, his girlfriend in tow as they left you standing there.
I could feel my heart constrict as I watch you tremble, your hands moving up to your face as you wiped the tears that fell.
I watched as you fell to the ground, your knees weak.
Even at times like this, you try to be strong and that breaks my heart more.
I walked up to you from behind as I took off my coat, placing it around your shoulders. You looked up at me, tears falling as you desperately wipe them away. At that moment, I had this urge to hold you in my arms, to pull you up and tell you I'll be here for you but I didn't.
Instead, I squat down beside you as you gave me a weak smile.
Gently I pat your head and gave you a sympathetic smile. Standing up, I held out my hand to you and you took it without hesitation. Gripping it tight, I pulled you up and steadied you before releasing my hand. I watch as your hand fall to the side and the desire to hold it tightly came again. I want to hold on to you forever, never letting you go because you're that precious to me. No one can ever take you away from me.
Slowly, we made our way back. You were quiet on the trip, crying silently to yourself as I drove us back to your house.
I found you sleeping soundly when we reached your doorstep, your face stained with tears. Ever so gently, I moved closer to you and slowly kissed you on the cheek.
"Baka..."
I removed your safety belt and carried you out and into your house. You were mumbling his name in your sleep and from then on, I swear to erase him from your memory. Placing you on your bed, I tucked you in and sat down on the floor beside you.
Do you love him that much?
Even when sleeping, tears were rolling down. Thumbing them away, I held your hand tight.
"It's gonna be alright. I promise. It's gonna be alright."
Slowly, I fell asleep right beside you, our hands interlinked.
