When night fell, Yamada welcomed Yuri as he climbed into his bed and snuggled closer to him as always. Yuri felt the familiar warmth as Yamada wrapped his arms around him, pulling him closer.
"Oyasumi Ryo-chan."
"Oyasumi~"
Yamada gave Yuri a kiss on the forehead before he closed his eyes, missing Yuri's blush.
That night, Yamada slept soundly but Yuri was awake for some time before he could eventually fall asleep.
He had his mind full. He thought about Yamada and thought about Yuma.
The next morning, he woke up earlier than Yamada and let his comfort and splashed himself with cold water.
Maybe today, he should come clean with Yuma. To tell him that he's with Yamada now.
He didn't want to hurt Yuma, that's the last thing he wanted to do, but he can't be dating the both of them. It's not fair to them.
Yuri still couldn't be sure where his heart belongs though. He had been thinking about it last night but he can't find his answer.
He loves Yamada and he knew that some part of him still loves Yuma. Is that even possible?
Splashing his face with more cold water, he cleaned up and started brushing his teeth.
Maybe he just miss Yuma a lot. Yuma was his first love after all and people have always said that first love are the ones that will always remain with you. Maybe that's what it is.
He went out of the toilet and saw Yamada stirring in his sleep.
He walked over to him and sat down on the bed, lying down on Yamada and placing his chin on his chest.
"Ohayo~"
Yamada opened his eyes and was he saw Yuri's smiling face in front of him, in close proximity.
"Ohayo, my angel~"
He rubbed his eyes and Yuri got up and pulled Yamada up.
He yawned as he stumbled into the toilet.
Yuri watched him enter as he continued to sit on the bed.
He love being with Yamada. He liked how Yamada always puts him in front of everything else, treating him as if he's the most important person in the world.
He loves how Yamada care for him, how he's always beside him when he needs him. How Yamada would be so kind and gentle to him. How his arms wraps around him and how Yamada's lips felt on his.
Which is why he's decided. He would tell Yuma the truth today and then break up with him, if they were still together.
He got changed and checked the clock. It was 10.30 and it looked cloudy outside.
He waited for Yamada to be done before they went downstairs together. They didn't mention anything about Yuma and about the fact that Yuri's going out with him today.
Yamada had his arm around Yuri's shoulder as they walked down and they greeted the others as they sat down.
11 came and the bell rang.
Yuri pushed himself away from the table and gave Yamada a peck on the cheeks before leaving.
"Itekimasu!"
"Iterashai~"
They all responded to him as he wore his shoes and went out of the door, closing it behind him.
Yamada caught a glance of Yuma placing his hand over Yuri's shoulder before it clicked.
Suddenly, he don't feel like eating anymore. Everyone noticed that but they didn't say anything.
Yabu had told them not to interfere with their relationship. He had said that it's all up to Yuri choice, to choose between Yamada or Yuma and all they can do is support him.
Yuto disagree and he had managed to make Keito side with him.
Yuri belongs to Yamada and they look really cute together. He doesn't care if Yuma was Yuri's first love. Yamada was the one that was with him all the way and that proves something.
His argue was dismissed though and he was left defeated. Complaints were only heard by Keito and Keito tried his best to calm him down, saying how it wasn't really up to them to decide. Somehow, he got Yuto convinced into waiting and seeing how it progress before he decides to do something.
Yamada got up from the table.
"Gochisousama."
Yuto wanted to say something but was stopped by Keito.
They watched as Yamada climbed back up the stairs, the dejected look on his face.
It's not like Yamada wanted Yuri to go to Yuma, he just can't help but let Yuri be. He knows how much Yuri misses him and how can he be so selfish to hold him back?
Even though he wasn't sure if that would cause their break up, he still thinks he made a right choice.
However, his heart wasn't agreeing with his brain.
All he wanted to do when Yuri left was to pull him back and ask him to stay but he didn't. He had listened to his brain instead of his heart and he hoped that wouldn't cause his heart to die.
Going back to their room, he noticed Yuri's phone lying on the bedside table.
"Ano baka."
Grabbing it, he rushed back down the stairs, shouted to them where he's going and went out.
"They shouldn't have gone too far."
Looking around, he tried to search for the pair as the sky above him darken and he heard the thunder rumble.
It looks like it's going to rain and Yamada only had Yuri's phone with him.
Raindrops started to fell as he continued to look for them and he was about to give up when he noticed the pair in front of him.
Yuma had his umbrella up and he was sheltering the both of them from the rain. His arm was around Yuri and that made Yamada's heart constrict slightly.
He decided to ignore it and ran up to them.
He was about to call out to Yuri when he saw Yuma turn around, bend down and kissed Yuri on the lips.
Yamada froze.
He just saw Yuma kissed Yuri.
The phone slipped from his fingers and it clattered to the floor, splashing rain water around.
He turned and ran.
Yuri was taken by surprise when he felt Yuma's lips on his. He was shocked but his mind was clear. No sparks. No blushing. No shyness. No heart racing. Nothing when Yuma kissed him. Yuma's action confirmed his thoughts and he was sure now who's the one he loves.
He heard a clatter and a soft splash from behind and he pushed Yuma away. Turning around, he managed to catch Yamada's back view before he disappear around the bend.
Not bothering to explain anything to Yuma, he left the shelter of the umbrella and towards Yamada's direction, calling after him.
He picked up the phone on the ground and realised that it was his.
Does that mean... he saw all that?
Yuri's fist clenched tight as he realised what Yamada had saw and what Yamada had misunderstood.
He tore after him as the rain pelted down, drenching him.
He could hardly see in the rain as he searched around looking for a sight of Yamada.
His voice came out soft against the loud thunder and the pitter patter of the rain as it fell.
Yuma was left alone in the rain. He didn't see who Yuri was running after. He didn't catch what Yuri was shouting. All he comprehended was that Yuri had just rejected him.
He tried to console himself.
Maybe.. Yuri saw someone. Maybe.. it was someone important. Maybe.. he was just thinking too much.
But the unsettling feeling inside him told him otherwise. He was rejected. He had kissed Yuri and Yuri had pushed him away.
Yuma didn't want to believe it though as he kept on repeating to himself that he had to trust Yuri.
He didn't run after him. It was too late. By the time he realised he should, Yuri was nowhere to be seen.
Yuma walked home alone in the rain as he tried to withstand the pain in his heart.
He would go and see Yuri later.. maybe.. he would get his answer.
Yamada was totally soaked as he ran against the rain that got heavier and heavier as time passed.
When it seemed like it's possible to run anymore, Yamada found a corner and crouched there.
He could feel the warm tears falling. He was cold. But all that didn't matter.
What matter was what he just saw. Yuma kissing Yuri.
It's like a shot through the heart and he could feel them shattering inside as he ran.
It hurts. The pain was indescribable and he cried as he crouched there in the rain, hidden from the passerbys.
He didn't know it was that painful to be heartbroken. He thought he would've experienced it all but no, this is different. The pain's a whole new level and it hurt so much.
Yamada cried his heart out as he continued to stay in the rain.
He was cold, the wind was strong but nothing could be as cold as his heart. His heart felt empty. Void of warmth.
Yamada hugged himself tight as he tried to chase the cold away.
Yuri started to panic when he still couldn't find Yamada anyway. He was sure Yamada was the one that was running away from them and he couldn't be mistaken.
He searched around frantically, calling out to him.
Yuri was worried. The rain's getting heavier and he was sure Yamada didn't have an umbrella with him. Which means, he's somewhere around, drenched like himself and soaking wet. He probably felt the cold too as the wind blew steadily.
Yamada heard his name and he looked up just in time to see Yuri running past him.
He watched as Yuri circled around the area, looking for him as he called out to him.
He didn't reply. His voice is gone.
How can such pain exist?
Yamada could see the scene repeating as he watched Yuri searched around the area.
He wanted to hug him so badly. To hear him say that he loves him. To hear his explanation. To hear him say that that was all a mistake. It wasn't what he thought it was but Yamada didn't move from his location and Yuri went away.
