Nostalgia!

I feel really lucky right now. Just last Sunday, not a full week ago, I was worrying about how I would be able to pay rent, and bills, and student loans, and the TV license fee, when I've only worked for 25 hours this month. By Tuesday I was booked for several more days, landing me on around 70 work hours this month. Okay, not a lot by any standards, but given that I also study and have a 25% sick leave it's quite alright. It was just kind of funny how I went from worrying about my finances to getting more work hours than I've had in months, in just two days.

Last week I had such a nostalgia trip. I bought "Bamse" on DVD and watched my favorite film, the one with the little donkey. Bamse is a Swedish cartoon character, originally a comic book character (loved those comic books as a kid!) but they made a few short films as well. Bamse, our hero, is both the world's strongest bear and the world's kindest bear, and while the stories are a bit too preaching at times I think everyone in Sweden was raised with these comics. And the films have a very specific style of animation, hilarious sounds and only one actor narrating and reading all the parts. It was extremely nostalgic to watch again. I'm going to have to rewatch the rest of the films whenever I get a chance.

Now I'm off to do some baking. Apple-cinnamon muffins, more specifically. I haven't made muffins in years, so there's no telling whether or not they'll be edible.
