I hate hate hate politics.
I don't think there is anything more than I hate than politics.
I hate the negativity (oh, the irony). I hate the blame-game. I hate the two-party system. I hate that you have to pick sides. I hate that once you're on one side, you're completely blind to other side. I hate that people assume you agree with them. I hate that people seem to know what's best for this country when they can't even manage their own lives. I hate that politics keeps interrupting my tv.
Our country is literally split into two sides. People watch the debates and they don't really listen to the other side, and then the next day they boast about how their own candidate was so great and nitpick at the other person. Oh, man, my candidate is so awesome and they obviously won over the crowd, oh, and did you see what idiotic thing the other person did, it was so beyond stupid, why are they even running. They push each other so far down it's to the point where they might as well accuse each other of eating babies.
It's not about compromise, it's about which side you're on. Each party trying to keep the other party down instead of getting anything done. Course, that leads to my next thought. Why are we so dependent on the government?
I thought I was a Libertarian. I think that's what I am closest to. I'm not so sure now. I should just label myself Independent or something.
Honestly, all I want is to be left alone. Stop taking so much of my money. You can take a little bit of my money for the roads and the military. I'm paranoid enough that I think we need defensive measures against crazy terrorists. WHY DO PEOPLE WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO PUSH THEIR SOCIAL AGENDAS. Both parties do it. Republicans want their 'morals' pushed onto us, Democrats want their 'ideals' pushed onto us and there's a constant number of bills that they'll churn out to make sure the federal government is responsible for it. How about you let me decide my own shit!
I can't wait until this election is over. I really can't.
