I SAW. I SAW. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. AT LEAST IT IS SHERLOCK THOUGH, YES? SHERLOCK IS THE BEST.
SORRY VAL. I CAN'T STOP WITH THE CAPS. YOUR DEFAULT IS DIFFERENT. I THINK THE PLANET HAS STOPPED ITS ROTATION AROUND THE SUN.
ALSO...I WAS GOING TO BRING THIS UP IN YOUR ICON POST (WHEN I GET TO COMMENTING ON ITS FABULOUS-NESS), BUT YOU'RE READING FANFIC. DO YOU NEED RECS? I GOT RECS IF YOU NEED THEM. ALSO WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING (FANFIC-WISE)?
HAD TO SWITCH BACK. I'M DOOMED TO KEEP THIS ICON OF ALISHA AS MY DEFAULT TILL THE END OF TIME. IDK IT FEELS LIKE A FIXED POINT IN SPACE AND TIME. SO BE IT.
THIS TUMBLR is basically a rec goldmine. It isn't all John/Sherlock, but most of it is (because let's face it, most of fandom is pro John/Sherlock). They also have this lovely master list of good rec posts to go through once you finish up everything in their blog. Best resource or best resource?
I LOVE YOU. WILL SPEND THE WHOLE AFTERNOON READING AND SQUEEING. THANK YOU. Also, no need to mention A Little Competion because libraryofsol has been my Sherlock/John dealer from the verybeginning. Actually, her Thermodynamics series sherlocked me beyond repair.
I wasn't as keen on the Thermodynamics series as I was A Little Competition, but my taste is a little...stricter than some. For example, I hate Parallel which is practically a universal fandom favorite, and I didn't much care for that fic with the famous 'We'll live on crime scenes and starlight, same as we've always done' line that everyone and their mother was obsessed with. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut I didn't dislike Thermodynamics! I read the whole lot of them. :D
Never heard of Parallel or the other quote you mentioned! Actually, I've only read The Magic of Deduction by writingispurdy and libraryofsol's fics - and I also skipped a couple of them, like the John/Sherlock/Mycroft one because the idea of a Holmescest or whatever it might be called makes me laugh so hard I couldn't possibly read it without falling off of my chair. Oh, and I also read Alone on the Water, but God that was some seriously depressing stuff.
Well, Parallel...is basically case fic (although, I found that the case came second and was rather boring to be honest) wherein John and Sherlock are on a university campus and meet two girls who are rather like themselves. CUE ROMANCE! It rather dragged on for me and there wasn't enough John or Sherlock. Everyone adores it though. You'll find it in the Tumblr if it strikes your fancy
( ... )
ALSO. THE PROGRESS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES. A must read if there ever was one. Don't let the first person narrative turn you off. It was my main reason for putting off reading it for so long, but I totally regret that now because it is THE BEST.
I'mma keep looking for it for you and see if I can't find it somewhere. it's a true gem.

AND DON'T READ ALONE ON THE WATER FOR GOD'S SAKE. DON'T. IT'S A BLACK HOLE OF ANGST. DON'T.
Oh God, wings! That does ring a bell. I might have stumbled upon it, but I didn't read it. I really don't remember when or where, though.
