So it’s been awhile since I’ve updated but it’s just been busy here in Saratoga Springs. Didn’t go home for the second time on Thanksgiving. I was in Massachusetts with Kelsey and her family and it was really nice. Relaxing I got a lot of reading done ate the majority of a pumpkin pie and watched all three Lord of the Rings extended DVD’s. We got the perfect amount of snow on Thanksgiving Day and I got to play with a really cute golden retriever named Fairbanks all week.

My birthday was great got lots of card from family and friends and a few presents. Laura next door gave me a shot glass that says “I always take life with a grain of salt, a slice of lime and a shot of tequila”. It was in commemoration of Tequila Night we had for Kelsey’s birthday in October. The whole night it documented on my facebook page, quite funny.

My parents had a birthday surprise sent to me at the shop here on campus. It contained ten cupcakes, a 2 liter of soda, a big bag of chips and a helium balloon, I should have know my father couldn’t resist a package that included a balloon. That night was the tree lighting ceremony in downtown Saratoga Springs. If you’ve ever seen an episode of Gilmore Girls it looked like Starshollow. Then my two friends took me to see Rent the movie. It was a strange experience I didn’t hate it, I went prepared for the movie to be different from the show. I think part of the reason that I didn’t really like it was that I spent the whole movie comparing it to the show and waiting to see what they would leave out. The energy was so different, I’ve seen the show four times and I literally spend the entire time on the edge of my seat holding my breath. But with all the dialog that same energy just wasn’t there. Something’s were just stupid why did they year have to be 1989? There was no reason for that but in general I thought the look of it was perfect.

Friday my friends Whitney and Andy took me and Kelsey out to dinner. Applebee’s never tasted so good. I ate like a glutton but it was still almost my birthday. I ate bacon cheese nachos, onion soup, and a garlic steak with mushrooms, garlic bread, mashed potatoes and chocolate cake. Sounds like a lot but I don’t eat too much here on a regular basis and Whitney’s brother gives her one free meal a month where she can spend as much as she wants so…

Saturday I went with Kelsey to the mall because I wanted to get my friend Lauren a Christmas present. While at Old Navy I tried on some clothes to see how I was doing with the whole weight loss thing. I’M DOWN THREE PANTS SIZES!!! Even though I’m broke I bought a pair just to celebrate. I was in such a good mood I decided to go to the winter dance, semi-formal and had a GREAT time. Meet tons of cool new people and I actually felt good about the way I looked.

Then Sunday I went to go see Rent again. I thought I’d try it again and there were parts of the movie that I had really enjoyed. I’d say when they were singing I thought the songs were perfect. Santa Fe, La vi Boheme, Take Me or Leave Me and Out Tonight were just great. I liked the movie so much more the second time. I knew what was coming and while there were changes I feel like the overall movie had the right look and feel.

Overall it’s been an amazing weekend and I’ll be back in Chicago and home in less then three weeks!!!
