It's frustrating when you can't really do much without your computer. It needed a motherboard change, so I had no choice. Oh well...
I do need my manga fix though. Thus, I'm able to access the net at least once a week. ^^
So last Sunday was the second day of my back-to-back shifts working for operations at one of the sports arenas here in our city (you could say it's my sideline job...hehe). I had a different co-worker with my on that day, and I was thankful I wasn't alone working on that busy day. His name's Kyle, and he's a pretty nice guy. Usually I work with someone else, but he was currently under surgery.
A typical conversation ensued, and soon, it came to the topic about our life goals and such. Kyle had an interesting life ambition --- he said he wanted to be a porn director after finishing his university degree. At first, I thought he was kidding, then he started saying that, "I don't need much talent to earn millions," or, "porn movies these days need to have better quality," etc. I just went along with his story, after all, those are his dreams. As ridiculous as it may sound, he definitely had the fervor to pursue his dream. Heh.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, everywhere I go, I discover people who have realistic dreams to pursue, and conviction to see the end of the rainbow. This experience is part of my journey towards finding my purpose, be as corny as it may sound. :P
I just got myself to quit an expensive addiction a month ago, and I'm happy that I did. As of now, I feel better after nearly a year and a half. Oh, and no, I wasn't addicted to drugs. I guess you can say that it gave me the same side effects of them though. (health, studies, personal relationships, time management, financial problems) But for now, I just laugh off that stage in my life.
Although...I feel as if I just replaced my addiction with a new one --- console gaming. I really can't help that, since my laptop's out for repairs. I used to play a lot before anyways, but now, I have a lot more freedom to play while I'm on my break week. Might as well do something else, ne?
So, currently, I'm playing Final Fantasy XII. Why XII now, not when it was released? Well, for one thing, I didn't play FFX and FFXI, (although I heard that FFXI being online made it the worst of its series --- true or false?) so I didn't bother to buy myself a copy of FFXII. However, I bought myself its sequel for the DS (FFXII:Revenant Wings), so I might as well play its predecessor. I think I'm nearly done playing with it (140+ hrs, level 70+, 3 more espers to go~), but I'm not entirely concentrated in playing it. Right now, I'm getting all the sidequests done, while I wait for FFXIII and FF Versus XIII. :3
I'm also playing Dynasty Warriors 6, Gran Turismo 5:Prologue, and I'm going to buy Grand Theft Auto IV when it comes out.
...
There's a reason for it all, but right now, what I need is a good distraction. ._.
Unlike last year this time, it isn't snowing. (I read my entry on that :P) But summer back home's way better than this...around this time I should be taking summer classes, just to give myself an excuse to go out. xD Then afterwards, I'll go hang out with my friends in a mall somewhere where the traffic isn't heavy (yeah right). Next, we'll eat out and have fun...all day...until the sun sets...
...
Is it weird that all my thoughts on writing entries pop out while I'm in the middle of taking a shower? And when I'm all ready to type them out, I forget some of them. ~_~
Interesting...I managed to type the words 'fix' and 'addiction' under one post.
