It's not a MONSTAH

So yesterday was a very good day in the exciting world of Meg learning about cryptozoology!  (Not-so-much in terms of the learning neuroanatomy... but that seems to be going OK.. I hope)

So- as most of you have probably heard, 2 guys in Georgia claim that they have found the body of a Big Foot.
They said they were going to have a press conference today- and that they are going to start autopsies on Monday.

This lead me to learn about the other "Monsters" that have been showing up over the past few weeks.

There was the "Chupacabra" video shot by police officers in Texas- I personally think it looks like a mangy dog with short hair.

The "Montauk Monster" - the dead body of some sort of beast that washed up on the shores of Long Island.  While reading this I found a link to a really cool blog- called tetrapod zoology.

It's pretty neat- written by a PhD who loves him some dinosaurs.  He did a very interesting analysis of the Montauk Monster- making it pretty clear that rather than an "eagle dog" as others claim it was- it's a decomposing raccoon.

He also did a very interesting week on Sea Serpents- debunking some pictures and presenting information about "sea monsters".

So.  It seems that monsters abound recently.  My friend Jeni who sits next to me in class thinks I'm crazy because she keeps looking over my shoulder and seeing all the crazy things I've been looking at lately.  But it has been fun... and it's been a bit more interesting than learning about how many slices MRIs usually make.  (We had a radiology lecture... and it was really boring)

Anyway- I hope I've entertained some of you with these links... have fun with them- I know I did.. and I'll be keeping my eyes out for anything that happens with the Big Foot- or should I say the Georgia Gorilla.  If I hear anything I'll let you know.

Saturday Callie decided to jump into the toilet.  Thankfully Ben had not used said facilities yet... but Callie still needed a bath because... gross.

So Dane and I gave her a bath in the kitchen sink while she made the worst noise in the world.  She was so not happy.  However, she was very cute when she was all wet- and she got over it pretty quickly and got some cuddles.

All right- back to studying the brain.  Bye!!
