Holy Crap A Post

Roseland Ballroom is closing in April.  I saw David Bowie perform there thirteen years ago.

In less depressing Broadway news, have you seen "Once: The Musical?"  Rory Williams Pond Arthur Darvill is playing the lead and he is FANTASTIC!  As you are filling into your seats, you see the cast in full-on folk-jam mode, so no, you're not late.  All the cast members play an instrument, some multiple instruments.  Your feet are tapping and you're clapping and your heart is merrily beating to Irish/Czech folk-rock and that's before the play EVEN STARTS!  It's a musical love story but it doesn't have the typical musical love-story ending.

Also, "Pippin".  I'm back to catching Wednesday matinees.  "Pippin" is definitely a Me-Generation musical: "Why am I here?  What is the meaning of my life?"  To be a cast member is not to have a fear of heights; everyone does some form of cirque act (Pippin's grandma even has her own trapeze number!)  I saw how it won Best Revival.  Patina Miller is my new Broadway girl-crush.

Also, I'm at the same hospital but I've had to transfer units (that's for another post) but I'm happier in my new unit anyway!  I got my own place, but I still visit home for dinner and laundry.  I've been running but I was laid up for a few months with a broken metatarsal (three weeks off your feet seems like an eternity but it flies by quickly.  Thank you, Doctor Who on Netflix.)  I'm back to running again and I MIGHT be doing a 5K in Tampa in January.

Yeah, that's it.  HOW ARE YOU?
