First off, the garden is starting to look less of a mess, now that it's warming up outside!
I still have a LOT of work to do (I bought over 100 plants from Bluestone to spruce up the corners of the yard, as well as the front of the house... that'll be nuts to work on), but I'm definitely further ahead than the same time last year.
Check it out:
The main bed and clover lawn
A bulb that looks like it's budding! I forget what I planted here.
Sedum Autumn Joy. I love these, So easy and bloom for a large part of the year.
I forget what this is, but I like it!
Catmint, Really pretty purple flowers. One of the ones I'm most looking forward to.
Lupine, the flower in my icon. It's funny-- the one growing the best this year was the weakling last year. If you look close you can see a bunny ate some of the leaves.
Magic lily bulbs, otherwise known as naked ladies, growing up nicely. I got these on Freecycle.
Another Freecycle find: hens and chicks! I've wanted these since I saw them in someone else's garden. Not much, but hopefully they'll get bigger in the future.
Rhubarb, 'cause it's Tom's sort of thing. They're pretty when they get the big leaves.
anddd some blue geranium stuff. I like how they look kinda wild.
Last but not least, the lilac are getting closer to the flowery phase. I'm rooting on them to flower and be at their peak by May 30 for the wedding, because I'd love to make my own lilac bouquet, something like this:
Oh, and one more thing: I've been doing some hardcore fitness stuff for the last 10 days or so, to make sure the wedding dress looks as good on me as possible.
Monday thru Friday: 30 minutes elliptical, 5 minutes weights, and 20 pushups a day.
Saturday: 30 minutes elliptical.
Sunday: my resting day.
I'm also limiting my calories per day to somewhere in the 1200 range. More veggies and almost no soda.
I've already lost some weight! yeaaaaaaaaa
