Garden update
Updated photos of the garden: so far so good!
Here's the main shot. You can also tell Tom and some family refinished the deck while I was on vacation in Florida:
Here's the clover lawn, mixed with some grass and weeds here and there:
Some hostas I transplanted from an unused side of the house to a shady corner in the back:
You can see the main flower bed (doing OK, but small) in the first shot, but not the Spring Hill Nursery plot. Here's that one, complete with a gorgeous lupine (!), a sunflower plant that sprouted from birdseed, and some other stuff:
And one negative. The area to the right of my garage is now crowded with weeds so tall they have to be mown down to less than 6 inches before sprayed with Roundup. funfun:
At this rate, I think I'll have the garden I've dreamed of by the end of year three: something natural/cottagey, flowery, and bird-friendly. That's pretty soon, in my book.
