I just got done watching "Casablanca" for the first time in my life.... I know. I think it was a pretty good movie. I know there is a huge debate about whether or not Ilsa should have gotten on the airplane. For example, in "When Harry Met Sally", they refer to the movie. Harry thinks that she made a bad mistake for going on the plane, and that she left her true love for her husband. Sally thinks that Ilsa made the right choice. She says, "Why would she want to be stuck in that cafe?" Well I really liked the ending. It gave me a feeling of hope in the end. I think Rick belonged in Casablanca, and if anything it sparked a fire of passion back inside, for his secret cause. Because as much as he was trying to stay neutral throughout the movie, you could tell that he did fight for a cause. Also Ilsa coming back to Casablanca brought closure for him I think to allow him to not have that bitterness anymore. I want to watch it again, but this time with the commentary.
I got Blazing Saddles from Netflixs also. I am debating if I should see that or On the Waterfront....
