burning man
**sigh** this picture is one of the few that i have from burning man last year. i'm holding the pineapple that elvis gave me. (thank you so much rigged for taking it!) the picture makes me both happy and sad. happy becuz it's one of the few photos i have from last year and it means so much. sad, becuz, well, i miss him. **sigh**
ok, moving on...
here it is barely the second week of august and i am home in gerlach already. :)
lots of work is getting done out here.
DPW totally ROCKS! the fence got done again in 2 days, which was a miracle in itself last year, and there are 2 more miles this year than last! everything looks to be on, if not ahead of, schedule.
not much of a ranger presence yet. not much in terms of ESD either. altho we did get the communications trailer set up almost completely today... once we finally had power.
most people are moving out onto the playa tomorrow, but i'll be in "gerlach estates" (bruno's trailer park) at least until the event starts, and "commuting" the 12 miles to work my shifts every night. i haven't seen many suicidal bunnies yet, altho we did see a beautiful fox running across the road tonight. but i still have another week to potentially get my jack-a-lope... (ask if you don't know about "kill the bunnies")
