so as it turns out my grandfather came to visit this week because he wanted to tell us something
and as it turns out he also had a couple of appointments here at Shands
and as it turns out he has lung cancer which according to my aunt is very aggressive
he told katie over the phone because he said he was having such a good time at dinner and he didn't want to ruin the evening
he is going to be getting treatment at Shands over the summer and since it will require many trips of several days he will be staying at the Hope Lodge, which is part of the american cancer society office where i turn stuff in for relay and where our acs staff partner works, which is all just very coincidental
he's never even smoked
but for as long as i can remember the sound of being at his house was the sound of him clearing his throat several times throughout the day
but what can you really do for a man in his eighties anyway
i can't say i'm surprised or blown away, i've sort of just been waiting for it
i can't imagine my grandparents as no longer a pair
