Yes, I know, the title isn't very original, but I am indeed melting. Toronto, and most of North America I believe, is suffering from a heat wave. Tomorrow they expect the hottest day for decades with around 38C plus the humid-index, which will make it feel closer to 50C. In a city where for some months in the year you cannot walk with snow.
When I moved to Canada everybody warned me about the winter, but people forgot to mention the amazing summer. Yes, it is hot, but I prefer the heat to the cold. Still, I have begun investigating portable air conditioners as my apartment has no AC. One fan can only do so much;). If anybody has any experience feel free to share. The reviews online very between "best machine ever" to "don't waste your money".
I've been chin deep in the revision cave, not for my steampunk story, but for my sexy space story. I participated in a pitching session over at Savvy Authors and was picked for a request. The request came just a couple of days after I received the results of a contest and the comments from an editor critique I won at the National conference. I asked if I could take a week to revise, and the editor graciously agreed and told me to take as much time as I need.
I am hoping to have TM in shape by Friday, which is my day off, so I can spend the day polishing. And pressing send;)
Then it will be back to my Victorian automaton factory.
How are you all doing? Anybody else melting?
heat wave,
