Reflections on Halloween

Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. How can you not love dressing up, begging for candy then eating until you throw up.

For the record Trick or Treating is for kids. I think 13 should be the cut off age for going door to door. After 13 you should be going to a party and saying things like "trick or treating is for babies".

We probably had a grand total of 20 kids last night and I'm a bit disappointed. We live in a relatively large subdivision so I expected a lot of kids. I raced home took out the trash, put dinner in the over, got the candy in a bowl, lit the pumpkin, turned on the lights and waited. And waited some more. I didn't get my first trick or treater until after 6:30. By 8:30 I was turning off lights, blowing out the candle in the pumpkin, locking the doors and trying to decide how much candy I was sending with Kurt to work.

The lesson I learned is always buy a bag of non-chocolate/peanut candy. Just my luck I only had Snickers, Reece's and Baby Ruths and Harry Potter is allergic to peanuts.

I can't wait for next year. Come on Thanksgiving, my second favorite holiday.
