Damn, Damn, Damn
Kurt and I finally found a house we loved this weekend. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath contemporary ranch, with a wet bar and the largest master bedroom I have ever seen. We should have known something was wrong when we pulled up and the sale sign was down. Our agent called the agent handling the house and was told that house was turned over to Fannie Mae in September so it was most likely a foreclosure.
Cathy called Kurt this morning to tell us she had talked to someone at Fannie Mae and the house is off the market for the time being. She didn't know why but she speculated that it was because Fannie Mae was giving the owners time to get their finances in order and re-purchase the house.
We are going to watch the Fannie Mae website to see if it ever pops up there for sale.
There is another house in the same neighborhood that is also a contemporary ranch that is a bit more expensive but if we offer 95-97% of the asking price it will be in our price range. In the mean time we are going to keep looking.
