Hey everybody I am currently involved with World Goods, the new fair trade store in Green Bay. Our owner, Miranda imports goods straight from artisans working in countries such as Haiti, Zimbabwe, India, and other parts of the developing world. This process keeps costs down for you and the artisan by avoiding the middle men of the world that inflate prices and exploit labor. In addition, these artists are all certified through the Fair Trade Federation.
What We've Got:
Fair Trade Chocolate, Tea, Cashews, & Coffee
Some Furniture
Clothing
Sculptures
Paintings
Fused Glass jewelry and Plates
Books, Education, Toys and Games for Kids
Music and Instruments
Kitchen Wares
How it Works:
You can order goods on the website and they will be shipped to you!

Since World Goods is based out of a home gallery, people are encouraged to book parties and invite their friends, then an ambassador--like me!! --explains where each product came from, who made it, and how fair trade is empowering that person. And it's like a little party! In fact they're called Fair Trade Fiestas and we usually have food and drinks. Not to mention anything you buy at the store you can take home with you as Miranda usually has a large stock. There are benefits for booking a fiesta--usually you get a certain percentage off your purchase or a gift certificate. WOW!
As an ambassador explaining everything at the fiesta I make 20% of total sales for the night. You'll be helping people in the developing world and you'll be helping Kristin get to grad school! It's a winning combo!
