shifting gears

So Facebook and its bite-sized entries are leading me back over to the LJ-side of the fence. At least for awhile while I'm interested in noodling/tracking in longer-form details about my ACL injury from a couple days ago and upcoming months of fix/recovery towards getting back to playing derby. And I figure there can't be that many folks still ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about your ACL injury... that's a real low blow. :\

Don't forget upper body and core strength training; if you have P90X, there are a number of shoulder/arm/back/core/ab workouts you can do.

This Tria Orthopaedic sounds awesome - do you know if they take HealthPartners at all?

yeah suckass - but really, that I've managed to go 4+ years of derby happiness before succumbing to an acl shred is something I'm mighty thankful for. So I'll take it on the chin, suck it up and deal. While still be a bit traumatized and wistful about it.

P90X rulz - and I'll be doing all of it I can - lots of things to work in the body even if legs are some or partly out.

And yes - Tria is associated with Health Partners, so it all is just $25 co-pays (other than the bigger ticket items like MRIs and surgery o'course).

peace out April girl :)

Couch-surfing? You're saying you're too good for couch surfing? I'm couch surfing at this VERY MOMENT! You wanna make something of it?

uh, 'cause I don't. you're an athlete who can kick my ass.

ha - I'm totally pro couch surfing ;). But only when it's a luxury, not a "can't do anything else" kind of thing.

Long time - nice to connect back w/you!

Yes, thanks! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and as minimally invasive of a surgery as possible.

Ugh, nothing sucks like a knee injury. I know you've had one before, but still it just sucks.

I'm thinking about you!

thanks dude :). yeah - will suck just as much as the first time, ok lots more so since it's derby I'm now missing out on versus just rec softball. But at least I know what to expect, how the whole shindig goes down with surgery, recovery and whatnot.
