Last night the Kilmores as a quasi-team event went to Bills Gun Shop in Robbinsdale to shoot handguns at a gun range. The back story is that Scary Moon Zombie just started working at Bill's and there's a new trainer there (they do gun safety/training classes there too) who offered a handgun safety class to all of us for free so he could get some

I meant to ask Dawny about how the gun range visit went at work today. It's interesting. I'm very uncomfortable with the idea of something existing purely for the purpose of killing other people. (the gun in my icon, just an airsoft toy) I've always been OK with hunting (as long as we eat what we kill), although I've even been questioning my feelings about that too. Mostly, that's because Leif is starting to learn about things like life and death, and I can forsee a confrontation pending when he realizes that beef=cow and chicken is really chicken. How do you explain to a two-year-old why it's OK to kill a bug, but not a person, and why you can eat cows but not dogs and cats and why those "rules" change depending upon where you live. Kids completely fuck with your perspective on everything.
On another note, reading your post reminds me that I am severly suffering from derby withdrawal. I never make it to the outdoor practices because I often have boxing those nights. I'm looking forward to seeing you all on sunday.
