Help from unlikely sources

I've said before that no matter how strong you are sometimes you will need help. Receiving advice from someone is a very bizarre thing. The advice you receive can be the most obvious answer or you can hear it a hundred times but it only takes one time for it to really make an impact.

I've been dealing with a dilemma lately and I wasn't sure how to handle it. When feelings are at risk you never want to hurt anyone, but sometimes you end up screwing yourself in the process. People have told me to do my thing, make myself happy, but for some reason that never hit home. Until today.

I was talking to someone on MSN, a person who I don't usually enjoy talking to, a person who needed my help. In the process of helping them out, I was helped as well. It was simple advice. Advice I had already heard but this time around it stuck and made sense.

To that person I say thank you, and it's true I can't say you never gave me anything.
