Baby Issues

Jul 16, 2005 22:04

In March 2004, I journeyed out to Montreal to a wedding for one of my cousins; she and her husband had a very nice wedding, and a great reception that took over an entire resort in the eastern townships of Quebec. It was a good time.

Cut to less than a year later, and my cousin, Liane, is pregnant with her first child. I don't know much more than that, really - except for the fact that she's in her eighth month now, and that there are "complications" - ones that are serious.

This isn't a first in our family tree. One of my other cousins had one baby born DOA, another that only lived to six months...it wasn't until their third delivery that the little guy made it.

In my family, a year before I was born, my mom had a miscarriage and the baby was removed at four months or so. Hell, I was born only two weeks early, and could have died as well, because I had horrible breathing problems during the first few weeks of my life. Yet, I made it, thankfully.

The problem is far more frequent than what I assumed - and this is just one extended family. Crazy.

Whatever the case, I hope my cousin's child is born healthy, and at the right time. *CROSSES FINGERS AND PRAYS*
