This past weekend was official "Spring Cleaning Weekend" in Tsawwassen; the local garbagemen designate one weekend every April as the only weekend in the year when every resident can throw out as much garbage as they want, no ifs, ands, or buts. This means a lot of interesting things are left on the curb.
With all these interesting items left on the curb, a ritual formed in years past and has grown exponentially every year - treasure hunting. All day the locals circulate about in their minivans and pick-up trucks, looking for special treasures for free on the lawns of the local populace. I followed suit and did likewise, but all I found that I could actually use were a lot of recyclables like bottles and cans.
At least I earned about $10 doing it. Recycling is a recession-proof occupation, isn't it?
The Canucks are up 3-0 in their series with St. Louis. That's awesome.
The Habs are down 3-0 in their series with Boston. Ah well, I predicted as such anyway.
I received my First Aid certificate today! Whoo! All my hard studying paid off - but it was another harsh reminder of how BAD I am at studying - and reading, in particular. How did I ever get a Bachelor's Degree, again?
